B&E Boys were delighted to attend the recent Careers Day at Alder Grange School, where Mike Carney represented the company to share valuable insights into the wide range of career opportunities within the construction industry.
As a company with deep roots in the Rossendale community, B&E Boys are passionate about supporting education and helping young people explore their options for the future. Career events such as this are an important way to connect with local students, showcase the diverse roles available in construction, and inspire the next generation of professionals to consider a career in the sector.
During his attendance on the day, Mike discussed the broad scope of careers within the construction industry – from roles such as architecture, surveying, and project management to skilled trades including joinery, bricklaying, and site engineering. He emphasised that construction is a collaborative industry where there is truly “a role for everyone.”
By drawing on real examples from B&E Boys’ extensive portfolio of projects across the region, Mike illustrated how each role contributes to bringing a project to life – from concept and design through to completion. He encouraged students to think about how their individual interests and strengths could fit within such a dynamic and varied industry. Mike has extensive knowledge of the construction industry, as he has 50 years of experience.
