B&E Boys Supports Aspiring Bricklayers with Hands-On Experience at St Joseph’s RC Primary School

17th February 2026

B&E Boys is proud to welcome three promising students from the Salford City College Group to our team, giving them the chance to gain practical experience while working towards their Bricklaying Diplomas. This work placement scheme offers students a valuable insight into life on a professional construction site, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the industry.

After collaborating closely with the college’s Work Experience and Employability team, we were impressed by the calibre of candidates who came forward. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and eagerness to learn stood out immediately, and we were pleased to offer placements to all three students.

The students have joined us on our transformative project at St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Ordsall, a development designed to enhance the school’s facilities for pupils and staff alike. Over the course of 40 weeks, the project will deliver a new Key Stage 1 block with modern classrooms and group rooms, an expanded entrance area for administration, and external improvements including a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and updated parking – creating a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment for the school community.

One of our students, Latekqua Barnes-Chambers, who is in her second year of the diploma, has already gained significant experience on site. Working alongside our skilled tradespeople, she has been able to apply her classroom learning in a real-world setting, developing practical skills and building confidence for the next stage of her career.

At B&E Boys, we are committed to supporting the next generation of construction talent. By offering students hands-on opportunities on live projects, we hope to help them not only improve their technical abilities but also understand the values of teamwork, safety, and quality workmanship that define our approach.

As work progresses at St Joseph’s, we look forward to seeing these students grow and thrive, knowing that today’s placements could lead to tomorrow’s skilled professionals shaping the future of construction.
