Mill strategy starts with demolition of Albion Mill Waterfoot Business Centre Rawtenstall
Albion Mill is the first of a series of Mills along Burnley Road East known for Units to Let WBC.
Where houses were once built to support the local employers, employers now prefer sites close to main arterial routes, the employment uses being unpopular with residents due to the close proximity of building, imposing uses and traffic congestion around them.
B & E Boys are currently working with the Local Authority compiling a Mill Strategy that will see re-development of some of the Mill sites to residential uses in order that existing employment space can be enhanced, and occupancy levels increased which in turn will finance the construction of new and affordable employment space.
It is hoped the partial demolition of Albion Mill will preserve employment use on the site whilst the Mill Strategy is developed.
Having sent the work out to tender Professional Demolition were appointed to carry out the task of demolishing the building and work is now well under way with completion due mid March.
Professional Demolition who have a base at Kingfisher Business Centre Rawtenstall, have carried out a number of projects for B & E Boys recently and Andy Schofield said “we are delighted to be working with B & E Boys again and look forward to many more projects working together in the future.”
