B&E Boys are pleased to announce the redevelopment of the former Regal Cinema and Snooker Hall, and No. 14 Burnley Road in Bacup.
Working with Buttress Architects, B&E Boys have been granted planning permission to redevelop the Burnley Road site. This has been a lengthy process and has involved contributions from Historic England, the local authority and discussions with registered providers as well as an employment scheme. This project will significantly enhance the area by improving retail opportunities as well as bringing increased employment space and therefore increase foot traffic to the town. As always, community is at the heart of what we do at B&E Boys and this will bring further resources and options whilst also meeting the demands of successful businesses in the area.
The project will involve the demolition of poorly constructed extensions at the rear of the former snooker hall and opening up the rear yard for better light and air flow. Landscaping and paved pathways will connect the new areas and new shop fronts and workspaces will be created along Burnley Road. In addition, off-road delivery access and designated parking for these retail units will ensure that the local traffic patterns will not be negatively impacted.
B&E Boys started their family run business in Bacup, and therefore are honoured to have the opportunity to shape and help develop the town. The improvements will be high quality and sympathetic to the history and architecture of the area.
