B&E Boys are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our apprentice, Harley Rawstron, who has recently passed his final exam with distinction as part of his Joinery Apprenticeship as a student of Burnley College. From everyone at the company, we couldn’t be prouder of Harley and all that he has accomplished so far.

Construction Apprentice of the Year

On 6th February 2026, Harley was named Construction Apprentice of the Year at the Themis Inspire and Achieve Awards, hosted at Burnley College. This prestigious award recognises Harley’s hard work, commitment, and determination to build a bright future for himself and for B&E Boys.

From day one, Harley has impressed us with his passion for learning, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. John Boys and Andrew Horsefield were delighted to attend the awards evening and witness Harley’s well-deserved recognition. The team commented:

“Harley’s attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn really set him apart. He consistently gives his best, and this award is a fitting recognition of the progress he’s made and the bright future ahead of him. We’re incredibly proud of him.”

This award highlights not only Harley’s individual dedication but also the importance of investing in apprentices and nurturing the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the construction industry.

Celebrating Milestones

Harley has had a remarkable journey with B&E Boys:

  • 21st Birthday – In August 2025, we celebrated Harley’s 21st birthday, marking the milestone with his first official opportunity to drive our crew cab pick-ups and Ford Rangers.
  • Meeting the King – As part of the Root Farm redevelopment, Harley had the extraordinary opportunity to meet the King – who is a strong supporter of apprenticeships..
  • Staff Awards 2025 – Voted by his colleagues, Harley won the Positive Attitude Award, a true reflection of his dedication, optimism, and team spirit.

Current Project: St John’s CE Thornham Primary School

Harley is now contributing his skills to our exciting project at St John’s CE Thornham Primary School in Middleton. The project involves a state-of-the-art two-storey, one-form entry classroom extension, delivering high-quality learning spaces for the school community.

Throughout this project, Harley is demonstrating the same commitment, attention to detail, and professionalism that have already brought him so much success.
