Regular followers will already know that we are always keen to do all we can to support young people and help prepare them for working life. From presenting at awards events at local colleges to participating in school careers events, we welcome all invitations to get involved and help where we can.
There are few better introductions to the world of work for young people than work experience, and we recently welcomed another student on a work placement. Tania Lumb, from Todmorden, enjoyed a busy time with B&E Boys. As well as assisting with admin tasks and gaining experience of quantity surveying, Tania attended a site meeting at Woodland Primary School and helped with setting out at the Oakenhead site. Tania is studying Level 3 Construction & The Built Environment at Burnley College and hopes to go on to university next year to take a Construction related degree.
It’s great to see girls wanting to enter the construction industry, proving that it’s not just (excuse the pun) for the ‘Boys’!
