Belmont Assisted Living Apartments Project Completed And Handed Back
B&E Boys are pleased to announce the successful completion of a major project in Stockport. Work on the Belmont Assisted Living Apartments lasted for over 40 weeks. The project had a value of £1,000,000 and involved the construction of 11 brand new purpose-built assisted living apartments featuring communal facilities. Careful readjustments were made to the first floor to accommodate the specific needs of clients. The existing hollow core construction was specifically redesigned to pre-caste planks, thus increasing the decibel rating to 50 decibels. As well as making improvements to the acoustics, it also enabled a specialist remote management system for entry, security and safety. Further external and drainage works were also carried out on the project.
The client, Viaduct Housing Partnership, was established in 2017 with the main purpose of exploring opportunities to build new homes of all types of tenure in the region, but with a specific focus on affordable housing. The partnership has been very keen from the outset to engage with the local community. The partnership continues to consult with the full range of stakeholders, in terms of the design choices it makes and building strategy decisions it takes.
The Belmont Assisted Living Apartments Project was completed to Robust Details Standard and as part of the ground-breaking Considerate Constructors Scheme. This is an organisation, founded in 1997, that welcomes all parties operating within the construction industry to voluntarily sign up to a code of considerate practice. The overall aim is to encourage companies to engage in best practice that goes beyond the statutory rules, regulations and standards that are already in place.
As with most projects of this type, B&E Boys worked with several partners on the Belmont Assistant Living Apartments Development. The chosen Architects for the project were Pozzoni. This highly regarded company, who have offices in London and Altrincham, are widely known for The Pozzoni Academy. This institution was set up to support the development of the next generation of young designers and architects within the industry Other partners on the Belmont Development Project were PD Associates, who served as both Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager.
