Units to Let Bury site J2 Business Park Bury to generate hydro power electricity for Bury Black Puddings
Work has recently been completed on the Companies first Hydro Powered Electric turbine at J2 Business Park Bury. J2 Business Park situated near B&Q Warehouse Bury on the M66 is home to Bury Black Puddings, Millers Vanguard, Datum, Mister Marble, LNK motors to name a few. However the site was formerly a dye works utilising water from the River Roche to power operations on site. The original water workings date back to 1756 and a date stone has been retained in original position as part of the new installation.
B and E Boys have owned the site since the 1990s having undertaken extensive refurbishment and new build to provide industrial and commercial space. The Mill Weir and Sluice gates were left untouched in the hope that a water turbine could one day be installed. B & E Boys undertook initial feasibility and embarked on getting the permissions required to re-utilise much of the existing workings before embarking on constructing the turbine earlier in the year. The turbine, an Archimedes screw harnesses river water to generate enough electricity to serve 30 homes.

Neighbouring business and tenant of B and E Boys – The Bury Black Pudding Company will utilise most of the electric generated as part of their recently completed expansion into Europe.B and E Boys are already looking to commence their next hydro project, as well as continuing their usual Construction and Property related activities.

B and E Boys have been in construction for over 50 years and are well experienced in most types of construction for both public and private enterprise working in Government Buildings, Educational Establishments, Industrial and Commercial premises all over the North West and beyond having recently worked in Stafford, Wychnor and now Enfield in London.
