Clowning Around At Kingfisher For Comic Relief

20th March 2017

The staff at Kingfisher Business Centre, Rawtenstall are always keen to do their bit for charity. This year’s Comic Relief on Friday 24th March looks like being no exception. In fact, this time they are even prepared to take it on the chin for charity!

Nicola, Andy and Claire from the Kingfisher team will be dressed as clowns for the day and are holding a special event to raise money for Comic Relief. The three will be collecting donations and in return they will be more than happy for donators to ‘pie’ them.

The pie-ing will take place from 3pm-4pm on the car park. All donations will be welcomed, but a suggestion has been made that the recommended amount to pie Andy should be a minimum of £5 – otherwise Nicola and Claire are concerned that queues will be forming right around the block!

As well as the clowning around and pie-ing, the team will also be holding a cake sale in reception on the day, and red noses will be on sale in reception in the days running up to the big day.

It’s fantastic to see the Kingfisher team continuing with their commitment to charity fundraising. Kingfisher Business Centre can also boast that it has welcomed a distinguished guest during a previous charity event. You might have seen that Children In Need’s Pudsey found time in his busy fundraising schedule to pay a surprise visit to the centre to help out at the Children In Need Cake Sale.

During his visit Pudsey took the time to visit the children attending Kumon Classes and popped in with his collection bucket to see the other companies based at Kingfisher Business Centre.

The cake sale raised £143.95 and the Pudsey team commented that all the Kingfisher businesses had been very generous with their donations.

We know that all the companies based at Kingfisher Business Centre will get into the spirit of things again for this year’s Comic Relief. There is a real sense of community at Kingfisher and charity events such as these are always great for showing this off.
