Eddie Slattery and Sam Lord, two B&E Boys’ employees recently ran the Edgworth 10K Reservoir Challenge, raising money for Rossendale Hospice. The event took place on Sunday 10th June. The 24°C heat certainly didn’t help matters but both runners clocked in respectable times. Eddie did it in 1 hour 7mins and Sam completed the run in 1 hour 10 min.
Rossendale Hospice is a local charity which cares for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting conditions including, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), chronic lung disease (COPD), Organ failure and others. The services that are offered include Day Therapy, a range of Complementary and Psycho therapies, Bereavement Counselling and a Befriending Service. In addition they also provide Long–term Support Nurses to help patients and families to cope with long-term conditions and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and Hospice at Home care for patients at the end stage of their life.
A big “well done” goes out to Sam and Eddie from everyone at B&E Boys. It doesn’t stop there as they are running again in support of Rossendale Hospice at the ASDA Foundation Burnley 10K Run on 15th July.
