At Boys we see everybody within the company as part of one big family. From the admin office staff to the labourers, every single person who is employed by B & E Boys has an important part to play in our success.
We want to look at all the different roles that are needed – and what better place to start than our brickies?
The work that bricklayers do is all around us. Virtually every building we live, work or play in will have been built with the help of a bricklayer’s hands – building walls, chimneys, arches, housing, the list goes on.
One of our longest-serving employees is a bricklayer. JIM HEYWORTH has worked for Boys for over 31 years. Jim is highly skilled and time-served and has worked on all sorts of projects and housing developments all over the UK through the years.
Jim has thoroughly enjoyed working for Boys. He names one particular housing development in Stacksteads from around 20 years ago as his favourite project – but he really enjoys the variation of starting a new project every 6 weeks or so, and the opportunity to work with different teams.
As bricklayers are responsible for building walls, repairing them, or doing both in close consultation with construction plans, they will always be vital to what Boys do – and Jim Heyworth is one of the best there is.
Jim is working on the final houses on the Whinberry Development at the moment – for more information on the project please visit http://www.whinberryplace.co.uk/
