John Boys was very pleased to attend the official opening of the English and Maths Buildings at Manchester Health Academy earlier this week.
MHA is a school that B&E Boys knows well, having built Phases 1, 2 and 3a of the major projects that have been delivered in recent years to upgrade the school’s facilities and support its continued growth.
Chief Architect, Charles Shorland, explained the various phases of the project and praised the work of B&E Boys. Phase 1 involved the refurbishment of existing classrooms and laboratories and a dining room extension. Later phases delivered six additional classrooms, alongside care parking and significant infrastructure work. The official opening was to celebrate all the various phases of the project and to unveil a new skills centre.
Renowned local poet, Mike Garry, spoke at the event along with BBC presenter and journalist, Steph McGovern. Steph made some great points about how all children should be treated equally in education and not on ability.
It was a powerful message and one that we wholeheartedly support. We are pleased to be have been able to deliver first-class facilities for the school and its local community, so that young people in the area are best placed to succeed.
