Supporting Our People: Mental Health Training at B&E Boys

4th August 2025

There’s no health without mental health

At B&E Boys, we believe that looking after our people means more than just offering professional development and a safe working environment – it means recognising the whole person, and being there with the right support, when and where it’s needed.

That’s why we’re proud to share some brilliant news from the team.

Andrew Horsfield has recently been certified as a Mental Health First Responder, having completed the Leafyard Mental Health First Responder Course in June 2025. This training equips individuals with the skills to offer initial support to anyone experiencing a decline in their mental wellbeing or mental health – a vital role in any organisation.

Soon after, Katie Whitham successfully completed the Mental Health First Aider training through MHFA England®, attending the course from 7th – 10th July 2025. This recognised programme enables individuals to identify, understand, and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue, encouraging early intervention and support.

We’re incredibly proud of Andrew and Katie for taking on these responsibilities. Mental health matters; in construction, as in every industry, and these new qualifications will ensure that our workplace remains one where people feel safe, supported, and valued.

Whether it’s investing in further training, providing opportunities for career progression, or making sure resources are available to help our team stay healthy and well, our commitment to supporting our employees is ongoing.

Congratulations, Andrew and Katie,  and thank you for helping to build a better, more supportive workplace for everyone at B&E Boys.
