B&E Boys are thrilled to announce the successful completion and handover of the extensive modernisation project at Nether Alderley Parish Hall. Completed in February 2025, the project included a variety of enhancements to the Grade II listed building.
The works involved the demolition of the existing 19th-century store room, with materials carefully retained for reuse. A single-storey extension was constructed to complement the existing building, enhancing its functionality while maintaining its historic character. Renovation works to the existing parish building included roof refurbishment, external improvements, and modernisation efforts throughout.
Additional upgrades included the construction of a new entrance lobby and ensuring level access throughout the ground floor. The WCs were relocated to a new timber-framed extension with a zinc roof, and modern heating systems, including underfloor heating and a limecrete ground floor slab, were installed. Electrical rewiring, re-roofing with reclaimed York stone slates, and interior redecoration were also completed. The main hall’s timber floor was refurbished, and exterior work included repointing with lime mortar, landscaping, and new seating areas.
Throughout the project, local materials were sourced wherever possible, ensuring a balance between modernisation and the preservation of the building’s historical charm.
B&E Boys collaborated with KPS Architects, Currie and Brown Quantity Surveyors, and WML Consulting Structural Engineers to bring this project to fruition.
