SUCCESSFUL HANDOVER FOR CHALLENGING PROJECT

B & E Boys Limited handed over Rochdale College Sixth Form Block to the client on time and within budget today.

The project was very challenging new build steel frame extension on the fifth floor to a local landmark educational building.  The 15 week, £800,000 project involved loading all materials outside the building from a hoist incorporated a five storey temporary access stairway and involved a number of specialised crane lifts, many out of normal working hours to lift the steel and glass structural componants into place.

A specialised scaffold had to be designed and installed at high level to ensure an efficient but safe working environment.

Director John Boys stated “This was always going to be challenging in terms of timescale, safety and logistics.  Thankfully, strong site management and an understanding client working with ourselves ensured a successful project handover”

Project Managers were AA Projects, M&E Consultants were REDS and Engineers WYG.

B & E Boys have industrial and commercial property to let in the North West and on competitive terms as well as having their own in house Construction Company and House Building Division.  B & E Boys undertake construction projects nationally up to £5m contract value including public sector enterprise clients.  The company are also building 50 new homes in the Rossendale area on it’s Whitehead Place and Whinberry View Sites with further housing planned over the next 5 to 10 years.

Industrial and commercial development is set to commence again on company owned Waters Meeting Bolton site next year where plans are to build over 150,000 sq foot for sale or to let to meet the growing demand in the area.
