B & E Boys Limited, Construction Company from Rossendale successfully completed the handover of the Listed Building Spotland Bridge Mill in Rochdale for Bizspace Plc.
The eight week £250,000 programme involved the removal of the asbestos, stripping out and making safe of business premises in the Rochdale area.
Spotland Bridge Mill is currently listed as a grade 2 building and is a traditional northern cotton mill dating back to 1891. It was built between 1891 and 1895. It was built originally to be used as a cotton mill as where many in the Heywood/Rochdale area in the late 1800’s. It closed in the early part of the 1900’s. Part of the factory was used again in the 1980’s as a Joiners workshop and a rubber factory.
B & E Boys undertake construction projects nationally up to £5m contract value including public sector enterprise clients. The company are also building 50 new homes in the Rossendale area on it’s Whitehead Place and Whinberry View Sites with further housing planned over the next 5 to 10 years.
Industrial and commercial development is set to commence again on company owned Waters Meeting Bolton site next year where plans are to build over 150,000 sq foot for sale or to let to meet the growing demand in the area.
