B&E Boys Work Placement Leads to Exciting Career Opportunities for Salford Student

23rd February 2026

At B&E Boys, we believe that giving young people real opportunities on live construction projects can make all the difference.

Following our recent work placement initiative with students from the Salford City College Group, we’re delighted to share some fantastic news about one of our aspiring bricklayers, Latekqua Barnes-Chambers.

Latekqua joined us on site at St Joseph’s RC Primary School as part of her Bricklaying Diploma, gaining hands-on experience while working alongside our skilled team. From day one, her attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn stood out.

As the brickwork phase of the project nears completion, we’re pleased to confirm that Latekqua will be staying on with us for an additional month to help complete the works – a testament to the impression she has made on site.

But the story doesn’t end there.

One of the experienced brickwork contractors working alongside our team was so impressed with Latekqua’s performance that he reached out to his recruitment contact, Jane Smith, Director at Impact Den Ltd. What followed was a LinkedIn post that has generated significant interest from construction firms across Salford and Greater Manchester.

In her post, Jane described Latekqua as “a quick and talented learner” who “takes instruction brilliantly” and praised her attitude and commitment on site. Since then, Latekqua has secured multiple interviews for future roles, with several companies reaching out to explore opportunities.

For a young person at the start of her career, this kind of industry recognition is invaluable.

At B&E Boys, we are incredibly proud to have played a part in supporting Latekqua’s journey so far. Our commitment to developing the next generation of construction professionals goes beyond providing work experience – it’s about mentoring, championing potential, and opening doors wherever we can.

Stories like this demonstrate the power of collaboration between colleges, contractors, and employers. When industry professionals come together to support emerging talent, everyone benefits – especially the future of construction in Salford and Greater Manchester.

We look forward to seeing what comes next for Latekqua and wish her every success as she takes the next step in her bricklaying career.
