B&E Boys are set to commence work on a major new project – Belmont Assisted Living Apartments in Stockport. With a value of £1,000,000 the project is set to last 34 weeks. The Belmont project involves the construction of 12 new assisted living apartments with communal facilities including external works and drainage.
The development is on the site of a former nursery. The transformation into a residential scheme is to be completed for Viaduct Housing Partnership in Stockport. The partnership was only formed in March 2017 and has aims to maximize opportunities to build homes across all types of tenure. Viaduct aims to engage the local community in its development design and strategies, and has a clear focus on affordable housing.
The brick-finished construction will also include the addition of complimentary external features to its surroundings. The site is located next to a park and play area.
The project is to be completed to Robust Details standard and will be part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The Robust Details scheme is an excellent alternative for pre-completion sound testing to ensure compliance with Part E of current Building Regulations.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a ground-breaking organization that seeks to help the construction industry to improve its image. Since its foundation in 1997, this not-for-profit, independent organization has welcomed construction suppliers, sites and companies to register voluntarily to the scheme and agree to adhere to the Code of Considerate Practice. The ethos of the scheme is to encourage best practice that extends beyond statutory regulations and requirements.
As is usual on a major project of this size, B&E Boys will be working with some distinguished partners on the Belmont development. PD Associates Bury will be the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor for the project.
Pozzoni, who have offices in Altrincham and London, are architects on the works. Pozzoni are renowned in the industry and also for their work with The Pozzoni Academy. The academy has been set up to nurture and develop the next generation of architects and designers. Other partners on the project include Yorkshire-based Topping Engineers.
We will update you in due course as the project progresses. If you would like to know more about other projects completed by B&E Boys, you can take a look at our projects page.
