£2 million project to construct a two-storey extension to the Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chorley

The work involved extending the Stake Centre, including the basement area, while retaining existing structures and completing complex construction and alteration work. The site covers a total of 15 acres and the striking Olympia white granite exterior has ensured the Temple has become an iconic local landmark. The extensive facilities of the Church include stake centre, missionary training centre, patron housing facility and temple missionary accommodation. The grounds surrounding the Temple are meticulous and feature flower gardens, reflection pools and many mature trees.

B&E Boys understood the sensitive nature of the work and worked hard to ensure we adhered to all exacting standards, client expectations whilst meeting planning guidelines. Our highly trained staff had the opportunity to put their expertise into practice using underpinning techniques to produce a tanked basement and upper floor accommodation as well as installing a specialist zinc roof. The basement and foundation walls were reinforced with concrete, whilst a reinforced concrete lift shaft was also installed.

Working together with the consultants, B&E Boys were able to deliver the project both on time and within budget.
