A new steel portal frame gymnastics centre with new drainage, mains services, car parking and landscaping. There were extensive repairs and refurbishment to the existing changing rooms also carried out, for use by adjacent sports pitch users

The main hall was clad in a variety of Kingspan insulated cladding systems along with a Kalwall translucent panel system which provided natural light and required a narrow degree of dimensional tolerance to the surrounding support structure. Inside the gymnastics hall, a concrete reinforced fast rack/soft landing floor pit was formed as part of the power floated concrete floor slab works. Natural ventilation was achieved by means of monodraught windcatcher units to the main hall and to part of the changing room buildings.
