Full refurbishment and remodelling of the Health Centre and the Pharmacy as well as an extension plus roof repair work whilst the premises remained open
The company has undertaken a number of projects at the local health centre, delivered in four phases, to provide additional consulting rooms and to update existing facilities. The property was originally constructed on a filled site alongside a river banking and required piling work prior to a ring beam foundation being laid. B&E Boys then demolished existing walls, created new openings, stripped out existing services, before being able to re-construct new consulting rooms, store rooms, reception and welfare facilities.
The extensions comprised of a new Pharmacy building and a new reception area to the main building. The internal works comprised the whole remodelling of the layout to provide additional Consultants rooms, a minor operations facility and new staff areas. External works involved the laying of a new carpark, together with associated access road, pedestrian footpaths and landscaping.
Due to the Health Centre being operational, significant out of hours work was introduced in order to minimise the general day-to-day running of the centre, and in order not to inconvenience patients.
We were aware of the restricted parking facilities available on commencement of the project, and therefore, at no cost to the Client, Boys utilised a building not in the PCT’s ownership, but adjacent to the site, to provide full storage and site set up, therefore reducing the pressure on the external function of the building.
