At B&E Boys, we are delighted to share the success of Rossendale Civic Pride’s (RCP) recent van appeal and the vital role it plays in their mission to beautify and maintain our borough.
This year, RCP launched their appeal to replace their aging van, which was no longer fit for purpose and at risk of failing its MOT. Janet Allcock, RCP’s Publicity Officer, explained:
“We started the appeal in May as our old van was in a very poor state. Thanks to the incredible generosity of individuals, local businesses, and organisations like Rossendale Rotary, we’ve been able to secure a brand-new vehicle.”
Among the standout supporters was B&E Boys Ltd, whose substantial donation early in the appeal made a significant impact, enabling RCP to acquire the van during the summer.
The Van’s Impact
The new van has been a game-changer for RCP. It’s used daily for a variety of tasks essential to maintaining the borough’s green spaces. From watering plants to transporting tools and equipment, the van helps ensure that areas like Rawtenstall, Crawshawbooth, and Waterfoot look their best year-round.
This summer, RCP’s volunteers used the van to support projects like Rossendale in Bloom, which brought vibrant floral displays to the area. They have done their beautification work along the front of St Marys Chambers, a landmark historic building in the town, with their work creating a wonderful environment for those visiting it as a venue, or using the office spaces we have available. These efforts not only beautify the borough but also enhance local pride, attract visitors, and improve the quality of life for residents.
Now fully equipped with distinctive Civic Pride Rossendale logos and a QR code linking directly to their website, the van has become a mobile ambassador for their work. The website provides information about RCP’s activities, volunteer opportunities, and how to get involved.
