Ryan Barnes and Jaxon Boys recently attended the latest Construction Development Alliance (CDA) event at Burnley College, an event designed to connect students with industry professionals and showcase the next generation of talent in construction.
Around 40 CDA members were present to hear first-year T Level students deliver presentations about their career aspirations and goals within the construction sector. Standing up in front of a room of experienced professionals is no small feat, but the students approached the challenge with confidence, clarity, and professionalism. Their presentations demonstrated not only ambition, but also the hard work and dedication being invested by both the students and their tutors.
Following the presentations, members of the CDA had the opportunity to speak directly with the students. These one-to-one conversations allowed the students to receive advice, ask questions, and gain insight into the realities of the construction industry. For many, this interaction provided a valuable chance to build confidence and start forming the professional relationships that will support their future careers.
Ryan Barnes and Jaxon Boys were particularly impressed by the students’ professionalism and enthusiasm. They highlighted the importance of events like this in helping young people navigate the early stages of their careers, giving them exposure to real industry expectations and guidance from experienced professionals.
The meeting also showcased the vital role collaboration between education providers and the construction sector plays in developing skilled, confident professionals. At B&E Boys, we are proud to support education and training initiatives like this, helping to equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in construction.
