B&E Boys are delighted to announce their latest project for The Preston (England) Temple on behalf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This £111,000 project began at the end of April and consists of a huge refurbishment to the washrooms at the missionary training centre in Chorley. The work includes the installation of new shower pods supplied by Taplin Sower Solutions of Harrogate. Mechanical, plumbing and electrical works will be undertaken with wall and floor finishes throughout.
The Temple itself was the sixth temple built in Europe and only the second to be built in the United Kingdom. It is also the largest Latter-day Saint temple in Europe, being based on an extensive 15-acre site, and includes a stake centre, the missionary training centre and accommodations, family history centre and distribution centre, and patron housing facility.
The temple itself is a stunning piece of architecture, with a single spire design and an exterior finish of white granite. The striking building has become a landmark in the area, with the spire topped with the Angel Moroni sculpture being clearly visible from the motorway.
We are targeting a completion date of the end of June 2024.
We have undertaken projects for The Church of the Latter Day Saints many times over the last several years, including the two-storey extension at the Temple site in Chorley. This huge, £2 million project included a two-storey extension, the construction of a basement requiring deep excavations and complex interior construction work. These works were constructed with minimal disruption to the temple activities, and with preservation of the local ecology a firm priority. This project was completed early 2016.
